Accepted!

I wrote a few days ago about my cousin who has an addiction problem with meth. I contacted some rehab facilities and the TV show "Intervention". The show called back and they will accept her as long as they can get her okay to participate in a documentary about addiction.

The family has spent the past few days gathering video, pictures, and all of the info that the show is requiring of us. Now, it's up to her.

Wish us luck!

American Idol Fan

Okay. So if you watch American Idol, you will know what I am talking about. I love the homeless kid! Too bad he got kicked off the show. Oh well, I found his myspace page and he is already selling his own CD which is totally amazing. His name is Josiah Leming and here is his page. Go check it out! My favorite song is titled "To Run".

I will continue to watch American Idol because my very favorite singer will win. I have called it since day one. She is the tattooed girl from Ireland who likes to sing Celine Dion songs. I have called the winner every season and this season is no exception :)

The trophy

I have this trophy displayed in my dance studio. It reads "Clinton City Softball Champs 2007". Our famliy softball team rocks. We are called "Famiy Feud" because we end up fighting with eachother more than we do with the other team. It's actually quite comical.

Anyway, we take this title almost every year, and every year, my cousin Jenny takes the trophy home. She wasn't able to take the trophy home this year because she stopped playing midway through our season. I thought it was because of a fight we had about finding a substitute player for me when I was unable to attend because of work.

Well, I got a call from my mom today telling me that Jenny is in Jail. Turns out, Jenny has been on Meth and Heroine since last summer (softball season). She has lost her job, her house, and her car. We never have mess ups in our family, so this is unusual and I am unsure of what to think.

I guess I just have a hard time understanding how and why? How do you get the drugs and why do you do it? Who introduced you to the drugs and where is their family? We care about her and will stop at nothing to ensure her sobriety. I have spent all day contacting rehab facilities and even a TV show called Intervention to see if we can get some help.

Keep you posted. In the mean time, I'm going to assist my family in hunting down her so called friends and showing their true colors to their families and the law.

Three weeks on my pole

Here's what I've been working so hard on for the past 3 weeks. The brusies, blisters, and sore muscles paid off. It's not the greatest pole routine ever, but it's a good start.

Here's the Christmas tree all decorated:

Christmas Tree Trip

We left yesterday afternoon for Wyoming to get our first ever wild Christmas tree. The baby slept the whole way and I slept just most of the way. We had to buy a permit to cut down a tree (only $10). When I looked at the permit, I noticed this:
Did I just read "Christmas Tree Permit"????!!!! Don't they mean "Holiday Tree Permit"? This is why I love Utah, Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado. The politically correct thing hasn't quite caught on here yet.

Anyway, we spent the night in a family members cabin and the kids played while the adults relaxed watching the Santa Clause. Evan thought the fire was the next best thing since Mom and Dad.

That night the temps outside fell to only 6 degrees! But inside, we were a toasty 80 (my brother-in-law wouldn't stop with the wood on the fire). We woke up the next morning ready to go tree hunting. This is the action outside of the cabin while we waited for the snowmobiles to warm up:

We drove 4-5 miles in freezing temperatures, not to mention wind chill from driving so fast, and we looked and looked for our tree. I thought that it would be really easy to find the perfect tree in the wild. Not true. The trees were very very skinny. After about an hour, I spotted our tree about 50 ft off of the road.

And then he cut.

And it was done. Mission accomplished...we got our tree. I am busy decorating it right now so I will post a pic tomorrow.
Here's some more pics from our trip that I love:
