Pole Party

I had my first night at Rumors on Friday. It was a blast! There was always a line of atlest 15 girls waiting for the free mini pole lesson. Lots of girls gave me their contact info while some signed up for classes that night.

I loved it!

Hopeful

I went to the Ark yesterday to visit Jenny. It wasn't much of a visit. The guests weren't allowed to talk to or touch the clients.

Only certain clients got to talk to family members, and Jenny wasn't one of them.

We did get to see her though. She looked fantastic! Her face was thinned out and her body more porportionate for a pregnant woman. As we were sitting across the room, I could see the baby kicking in Jenny's belly. Everytime it happened Jenny's face would light up as she felt the baby with her hands.

There was a client who talked with one of his family members. His name is Drew. He was 34 and had been there for several months. I didn't know what his drug of choice was. He came from an extremely wealthy family on Long Island. His parents planned to give over 100K upon completing treatment. His brother was at the meeting and insisted that Drew left the money alone. "The worst thing you can give a recovering addict is a load of money". Drew got upset and insisted that after treatment, he would travel back to Long Island by himself to visit friends and collect his money.

Everyone in the room thought that was a bad idea.

Anyway, there were some frustrating stories such as Drew's...but there were some very inspiring stories.

I can't wait for Jenny to get to talk to us and share her experiences at recovery. She is still on restriction and can't talk to family or make any phone calls at least for another week.

It was good. She has changed!

Jenny Update

I got the invite to go with the family to see Jenny tomorrow. I was so excited until I heard this:

We will be attending group therapy. I need write down a very brief example of how Jenny's addiction has affected my life. I am trying to think of how my life has been affected by her addiction...it's a harder question than you think.

She really didn't do anything to me personally. I kind of invited myself into the problem by contacting Intervention and spending dozens upon dozens of hours preparing for her departure. When she failed at her first attempt at rehab, I spent a dozen more hours trying to find another place. I willingly did all of this. She didn't ask for it...but I knew she needed it.

So other than time away from family and work...I can't think of anything. Sure there were some sleepless nights when she stressed the hell out of me, but it isn't something that all of us didn't feel.

So I'm just trying to think of what to say.

Anyway, I will try to snap a picture with her tomorrow before we leave.

If you have any kind words for Jenny, please comment and I will print them all off and give them to her.

Thanks!

Everyone at the bar is invited up to the stage for a short pole dancing lesson. At the end of the night, they will hold a pole dancing contest with a cash prize!!!

Here's the flyer:

Hope to see some of the bloggies hit the night scene. It will be fun!

I hate people!

I did a search for Jenny's Intervention on youtube.com
You wouldn't believe the things that people are saying about her and the family!
Here are my top five least favorite comments:

1. Any notice she looks like a BULL_DYKE? Also, the mormon church is a joke....

2.Fucked up Mormons, and they are surprised they fuck up their own.

3.They aired that Jenny has been sober for 4 whole stinkin' days? Holy Smokes that's clutching on straws.... 4 DAYS!!!!

4.they keep speaking about "secrets" and how her closest sister has "secrets" and i am under the assumption as well that that "secret that is killing her" is that she's gay

5.i'm sorry but my gaydar went through the roof, and its not just the hair
Since Aug 26 2008??? That was just last week, I had to go back and do a double take, then I was like.... wait, is it 2009?That is so sad.
The fact that she got pregnant is even worse. It didnt say "She began a relationship with a man, and became pregnant." it said, "Jenny left rehab after one month and relapsed on heroine. Shortly after she learned she was pregnant." She will probably be just another single mother, who doesnt take care of her kid. Like the world needs another one of those!

What the fuck is wrong with these people? I think that it's very brave to sit behind your computer and talk a bunch of shit about people you know nothing about. I believe there is a special place in hell for people like this. At least, I hope there is.

If you would like to chime in and let these people know how cowardly they are, follow this:

Death in our house

If you remember my post from last week about my daughters pet rat, you'll be sad to learn that the rat was humainly euthanized this evening. My daughter basically loved it to death. She took it everywhere she went, dressed her up, fed her pop tarts and fruit loops, and tried to give the rat a drink of water out of her cup.

The rat, named mouse, came down with a cold 5 days ago and never recovered. I tried leaving her in her cage for the past two days, but she didn't eat or drink....everytime I passed the cage, she gathered enough energy to climb on the cage door showing me that she wanted out.

She was dying and she didn't want to be alone.

You probably think I'm crazy, but I love animals...even tiny rats.

I was holding her tonight waiting for her to die when I noticed a piece of food stuck in her mouth. She tried to eat, but couldn't. I couldn't get the food out of her mouth. She couldn't open up enough for me to get it. I broke down in tears and jumped in my car. Off to the emergency vet we went. I cried the whole way. I'm sure the lady at the front desk thought I was crazy when I could hardly push aside my tears to speak. I asked that she be euthanized. I paid $20.44 and took her home in a box. My husband will bury her tomorrow when he gets home from work.

My daughter doesn't understand what happened to "Mouse". I told her that she's all gone, but she keeps telling me, "we will get her tomorrow okay? She'll be home tomorrow". When I tell her no she won't she yells at me.

We haven't buried the rat yet. Would it be beneficial for her to see the burial? Or should I just go get her another rat and claim that it is in fact the same "Mouse"? I don't know what to do. Help me!
