Bachelor Pad

My younger brother Tyler is renting a house with a couple of roomates. It's quite a large house in a really upscale neighborhood. He's been wanting me to visit for a while so that he could show off. I finally went, and this is what I found:

First, the negatives:

The "computer room"

The dining room

Plentiful food storage

Dirty Dishes

But there were several positives:

A full refridgerator

Art work...if you call this art work.

Clean fish tank

Tanning lotion for their pale bodies.
Nice furniture
So anyway, there you have it. My brothers bachelor pad!

Another intervention update

I talked to my cousin last night (the one who is hooked on Meth and Heroine). She was at a gas station and the clerk wouldn't take her check without i.d. She was arguing with the attendant about providing two forms of i.d. She sounded really nice on the phone and she genuinly cared that I had called. She sounded happy to hear from me.

Well, the argument with the gas station clerk escalated and she told me she would call me later.

That was yesterday at 10:00pm. Her family hasn't seen her for 24 hours..I was the last one to talk with her. When you call her phone, it rings and says "The customer you are trying to reach is out of the service area". You have to go pretty far to go out of the service area...we're all wondering where she is. Everybody is very worried about her.

She has a court date tomorrow morning for a stolen check. The television show is waiting for the judge to hand Jenny down her sentence. If she has to do jail time, they will wait until after she is released. If she doesn't get jail time, they will schedule the intervention right away. Actually it won't be right away because her entire family is going on a carribean cruise. They are leaving her for 10 days. Maybe we'd better hope for jail time :)

On a lighter note, Jenny thinks that the television show producer has a crush on her. She told Jodi the other day that she might need to add the producer to her fav 5's because she calls so much. Jenny finally told her that she was using too many minutes on their conversations, the producer then offered to pay for her phone bill. Jenny thinks that she must be a lesbian because why else would another woman want to pay for her phone bill? Pretty funny :)

Intervention update

The producers of the television show called my cousin yesterday to make sure she was on board with participating in a project about her addiction. This was a huge step. She messed it up.

She was high all day and she needed money to get more drugs. She had two hair cut appointments lined up to earn money for her drug. Well, she slept through both of them. Then, she found out that one of her druggie friends stole something from her...big surprise right. So she was very upset and couldn't function normally. When the producers called her to talk, she told them that she was busy and they needed to call back. They didn't call back, and nobody has heard anything from the show for a few days.

I hope that some day Jenny knows that I tried to fight for her. I haven't talked to her in over a year and I am sure that she thinks that I am oblivious to her problem. But I'm not. I don't think that talking to her is going to help and trying to act like things are normal certainly isn't going to do any good. So, I'm trying to help her by giving her the intervention, but she can't seem to help the stars line up.

Keep your fingers crossed.

My hood :)

I live in Ogden, Utah. Most people in this state think that Ogden is where all of poor people live. But I happen to think other wise. It is a town that has a lot of history and beauty. I especially love it's old world architecture. Just blocks from my house, you can see some of the most beautiful homes in the state. Take a look:

Terriffic American Idol Tuesday

Okay. I think I might have a new favorite. Homegrown David Archuleta kicked major butt tonight. He was so great!

Not only is he great, but he looks exactly like my little brother Cole and my best friends little brother. For the life of me, I can't remember my best friends - little brother's name, so I will call him Jasper. He has a strange name...kind of like Jasper...but not really. AAGH! I've been racking my brains all night and I still can't come up with a name. Anyway, look at the similarities.
Pic #1 is the real David Archuleta.
Pic #2 is my little bro
And pic #3 is my friends little bro.

Weird right!???

I called in 3 or 4 times to vote for him, but after a half hour of getting a constant busy signal, I figured if he's that popular, he probably doesn't need me to wait up for 2 hours to try to get through.

He's going to do very well...#1 because he's good and #2 because he's from Utah. The thing about Utah voters is that they will vote for anyone from their own state. Even if they totally suck! There's just something about voting for someone who has seen temple square, the rocky mountains, and a plastic sacrament cup.

It's up to her

I gathered pictures, video, family contact lists, and more in hopes of getting my cousin Jenny on to a television program called "Intervention".

I put them all in an envelope today and took them to Fed Ex. I broke down into tears when I handed the lady my envelope. She looked at me as if I were crazy. I just told her that the package is very special and to take good care of it. She promised she would.

Anne, the casting lady for the television show is going to present Jenny's story tomorrow to the producers who will give it the go ahead.

I am so nervous, but I know this will happen. Jenny deserves it and so does her family.

Wish us luck!

I'm so sick!

Kill me now. I hate being sick with the flu. And this years flu is a bugger. I have a fever, body aches, shivers, and the light hurts my eyes.

Other than that , things are going well. I've just been very busy trying to gather all of the things I need for my cousins submission for the TV show Intervention (pictures, contact lists, videos). We turned everything in and now the show wants the family to convince Jenny to send in a tape of herself admitting that she is an addict and that she wants help. This should be fun :).

Above is a picture of my cousin when she was healthy.

So anyway. Wish me luck. Does anybody have any ideas on how to convince an addict to do a documentary about addiction?
